After almost 16 years
Of having made NYC my home, I am leaving. He and I have decided to move out West, to California, where sun is plenty and walking rare. Well, that does not offer an accurate description of the entire state; and since we are still unsure whether LA or SF will be our home for the next several years, I should be remiss if I did not mention that it is also the state of foggy, cool mornings and luscious greens that generate bountiful grapes for lots of tasty wine.
We will miss NYC. How could we not? So much has happened for us here. So many friends, good-hearted, generous, smart, fun-loving friends. We will miss them as much as, if not actually more than, the city itself.
These were taken around our complex, ever so massive and inorganic; but it has been a good home for the past three years. I took them several months ago, at the start of the fall. I don't know what happend to the first one, but it strikes me as an eloquent metaphor for our lives these days: the blank part facing west.
