Market Visit

After we came back from Paris, his parents visited us in our new home in CA. On Saturday morning, we went on for a long, lazy promenade near the Santa Monica Promenade. We discovered that there is a weekend market nearby. Not quite the size of the Union Square GreenMarket, but quite nice nonetheless. Beautiful, potently sunny day. The sunlight over here strikes me as persistent, even unforgiving at times. He tells me that is is because of the absence of tall buildings, which usually serve to deflect, diffuse otherwise direct sunlight and thus create more shadows and a softer, more merciful light, especially to our eyes. Still, I cannot complain. Sunny, warm days in mid-October? Still getting used to that new concept.
