Not the most ideal light
It was a decidedly gloomy day, but I stepped out with my digital camera, nonetheless. I am always thinking of light, bright lights that create all sorts of shadows and textures. The composition of the photograph is certainly more nuanced when working with varying degrees of light. When the sun is hiding and the sky is almost monochromatically grey, the photos appear more flat. Such is the case with these ones. But they can still be interesting. Bearing an ominous quality, they are overwhelmed by the sense that in any moment the sky is going to break in two for countless water to pour down. My favorite is number five. As my gaze lingers on it, I seem to hear thunderstorms, even though is unbelievably sunny outside without a tiny piece of cloud to be seen anywhere. Synesthesia. This photo is made less of colors than of sounds, arresting sounds.
